new "official" Inkscape forum

Hi Friends,
This is slightly old news by now, but I just realize I neglected to make a post about this.  It seems the admin (the single owner/admin) of InkscapeForum.com has been unresponsive for over 6 months now.  When the issue was brought to the Inkscape Board of Developers, they decided to explore the possiblity of having an official Inkscape forum, for the first time in the history of the project.

It will be a shame if all the resources and tutorials from the site will be lost.

Ah, well the long lost admin finally showed up the other day.  We're hoping we'll be able to save it

Saving the forum and the info herein is great, what we need is to get the members to participate, but I have no suggestions as to how!

What would you all think about making ICD part of the new official forum?  It would not be intermingled with InkscapeForum.com contents.  It would exist whole, in a separate section of the forum.  You wouldn't have to change your links.  Everyone would be automatically forwarded.

And another question.  What would you think about making the whole forum read-only?  That means you would not be able to post new messages - only able to read it.  Honestly, weeks and weeks go by, months even, without any new messages being posted.  And I think as I recall, what most people said when the forum was about to close, is they just wanted to be able to look up tutorials.  So you'd still be able to do that.

And, as I'm asking this, I have no idea if the committee that's working on the new forum would agree.  But I thought I should ask you all first.
