Sorry if someone has asked already but I was wondering if anyone has downloaded the new program from Silhouette that replaces the RoboMaster program and if yes is there downfalls to it? have the bugs been worked out or should I wait in downloading the new program?

Hi, Angela will be along at some stage and can answer this as I know she has been playing with the new program.

Hi. I downloaded Silhouette Studio 10 days ago for use with the Robo. I have found it very easy to work with, especially having used Inkscape as a lot of it is similar. Though I must say there are some things I think are better/easier in Inkscape. I guess there is no such thing as the perfect all round programme. I have to admit I wasn't sure I should mention it on this forum!

Ruth Hi Ruth, no problems mentioning another software.

Hi Scrapthat
Yes I downloaded the Silhouette Studio software when it first came out last year, and I know I will love it once all the bugs have been worked out; and Ruth you are correct it has a lot of features that are similar too Inkscape.
It is worth downloading and trying out, and there is no need to get rid of the Robomaster software; because you can have both programmes on your PC......and its MAC compatible with no need for plugin's.......

First let me apologize for the delay. We just moved and things are a little hectic around here. So by downloading the Sil Studio I don't have to uninstal Robomaster? That's cool. I have always been irritated with the Robomaster on 2 points...1. why does it come on and slow up my system as soon as I turn on my computer??? If I am not using the program then I don't want it coming on and bogging down my system...I have to do a Ctrl Shift Esc every morning to get rid of it first thing. and Two it's a pain to do the welding unless it's a solid shape...which is why inkscape is so great. Do you mind elaborating on what the bugs you have run into? Thanks again for the help!! You are always answering my silly questions

Hi Scrapthat
I've now had Studio for 4 weeks or so and have been playing about with it quite a bit and have only had one blip which is that when I type out all the letters of the alphabet and "thicken" them in one go SS goes into "Not Responding" for a few seconds while it works on it then it comes back to life having done the job. Apart from that, which is not really an issue, I have had no problems. I do miss the zoom with "+" key and the spiral tool.

Thank you for letting me know! Seems like an improvement from the robo as that one will sometimes go to do a weld and you wait and wait and nothing happens and you have to Escape the whole thing which if you have worked on a bunch of other things you lose that too. Again thanks for the info!
