The Font Viewer I have on my PC at the moment is called Amp Font Viewer, which did a good job until someone pointed me in the direction of a Font Viewer called Nexus Font; so I duly googled the word Nexus Font and downloaded it from the cnet website here: http://download.cnet.com/NexusFont/3000 ... 61616.html and I don't know if its the layout I like but it looks nice.

I tried Amp at one point, but didn't like it. I have used NexusFont for a while now and really like it. Also, it temporarily loads the fonts in the folder selected under the "Sample Group" folder so you don't need to install/uninstall fonts all of the time.

OOOHH! looks interesting. I will have to try this out. When I had Corel Draw on the computer it had a built in font manager and I have been lost since.

Heather, do you have Windows 7? If you do fonts can be installed temporarily.

For anyone who has Windows 7 and wants to install a font temporarily, right click on the selected font and choose Install as shortcut then open Inkscape and the font will be available until you turn the computer off.
