Hello everyone,

I've been looking at some blogs this evening and at seamless tiles. Does anyone know how to do a seamless tile in Inkscape? I learnt how to do the object to pattern via PapaSue's tutorial (I think it was you, PapaSue!). The patterns have turned out very well but they have always got the lines through them. Now that I've seen a seamless tile, I would really like to try one for myself so, I'm hoping that one of you lovely people out there can help or at least point me in the direction to where I can find out more.

Ta muchly.

Debbie

PS Could this type of thing be done in Gimp?

Deb,
Inkscape has some bugs that make seamless tiles a little challenging, but here's a good tutorial if you want to take it on:

Gimp should be a good bit easier. Here's a tutorial on that

There are also a number of online tools that let you create seamless tiles.

and some more...

Oh No cleversomeday

What have you done to me!!! Love Love the patterncooler and the repperpatterns, I don't have to worry about coming up with pattern ideas because I can import some of my pattern files and mix them up a bit....... :) :) :) :)

Wow, that should keep me going for a while! Thanks very much Cleversomeday, I really appreciate the help. I'll have a look and have a go and post when I've created something. :)
