Please note: I've edited this tutorial and posted to my blog. I think the new version is easier to follow. Click here if you'd like to take a look. http://wp.me/P1CHOf-bmImport picture. Attachment: step 1 NT.PNG Use Bezier tool to place nodes. Edit nodes to adjust curves to outline subject. Don't forget interior spaces that you may want to subtract. If needed, adjust stoke color and width to make it easier to see. Attachment: step 2 NT.PNG Select outline shape and fill with color. If you have any interior shapes, fill them with contrasting color. Select outline and interior shape. Click Path>Difference. Repeat if needed. Attachment: step 3 NT.PNG Select your photo and outlined subject. Click Object>Clip>Set. Attachment: step 4 NT.PNG Now that you have eliminated the background, you can play around with filters or extensions to get the look you want. I have shown a few examples here. Attachment: step 5 NT.PNG When you are finished editing, print out your image on a piece of vellum. Attachment: step 5a NT.PNG I added some flowers and a bird drawn in Inkscape. The flowers were cut with my Craft Robo and placed behind the vellum for a softer look. Attachment: step 6 NT.PNG

Never mind.... they are there but just took awhile to load. Is there a way I can make it so that they can be clicked on and viewed larger?

I don't have much luck with images. I think it depends on the size of the original image uploaded. If it is a large image, it is turned into a thumbnail image and can be clicked on to view full size. However, if a smaller sized image is uploaded it does not seem to happen. This is only a guess from seeing what happens with stuff I upload. If anyone knows the real reason, please let us know.
