Rotation Basics

Method 1 - The easiest and most often used way to rotate an object.
Select the object and click on it once more to see the rotation handles in each corner. Drag any corner arrow to rotate the object.

Method 2
- Open Edit Global Inkscape Preferences
- Select Steps and select a degree of rotation
- Select the object while holding down the Control key on the keyboard. The object will rotate the amount of degrees selected.

Method 3
To rotate an object 90 degrees clockwise or anti-clockwise. Select the object and click on the relevant icon as shown below.

Method 4
- Object>Transform
- Open the Rotate tab and change the degree of rotation.
- Ensure the object is selected then click on Apply.

Method 5
- If you hold down the shift key as you rotate an object the point of rotation will change to the opposite diagonal corner as shown below.

Method 2 is my favourite and the one I use the most. I keep meaning to remove the snowflake video and remake it using this method instead.
Did you notice I forgot one of the easiest ways to rotate in the above list? Rotate 90 degrees clockwise and anti-clockwise. I will add it later on today.
