Calendars
« on: October 21, 2011, 12:05:22 AM »
Hi Everyone, we have been chatting about calendars in another topic. Laura suggested we start a section to share our projects. So this is it. So come on everyone give it a try and create your own calendar for 2012. Show us pics of your finished project and tell us all about it.

Sorry that I was basking in the sun in Maui when you posted this.  I was looking for a project when I got back and the Calendar caught my fancy.

How I did it....I think.

I created a rectangle the size I wanted it to be (subject to change).
Found the peppermint candy on the internet and used scatter to border the rectangle
Created another rectangle inside that and did the render calendar
I ungrouped the result to isolate just December and deleted the rest and enlarged as needed. I also isolated the dates I didn't want by ungrouping.
From there on I just resized and adjusted to get what I wanted.

Added the rectangles for highlighing the dates (although we have a couple of family birthdays in Dec that I left off for the file)

Hope that this inspires our members.
Aloha and Mahalo (Hawaian for Hello/Goodbye and Thankyou

Looks great Susan, the border and colour selection make it very Christmassy.
I had planned to make a calendar with a full year but now I think I may make one for each month and change it to suit each season. Thanks for the ideas.

Well, here's the first month...I thought I would try to play with fonts, shapes and textures so who knows what the next months shall bring! Perhaps it will inspire other to play! I didn't really do anything special, added rectangles and circles...the purple is done from the Filters menu - Materials - Enameled Jewelry. It's a pretty texture.

What an awesome find! Those are great! What a fun idea, too...already snagged the record player from last year...since we play albums and have LPs in our shop, I thought it would be fun to print out! Definitely worth a look...lots of great designs!

Thanks, PapaSue!

A request for "how to" make calendars came up today on the SCAL forum and I remembered we here had done some with Carolyn's tutorial.  It took me a while to find the thread, challenge/calendars.

I posted a link to Carolyn's tutorial on how to and lkc's link to the ones she made to give them a kick start.

Since almost "tis the season" it seems appropriate to bring all this up here for our new members who may not have run across it yet.  Personalized calendars make great gifts, add elements and pics and you're there.

Here is the link to Carolyn's tut on "how to"
