My List of "Bookmarked" Tutorial Sites
« on: July 15, 2010, 07:04:55 PM »
These are the blogs/sites I have used most often for Inkscape Tutorials:

of COURSE, My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is Cutting Time!   :D  Here's their link: http://cuttingtime.blogspot.com/

http://dan99.blogspot.com/  His videos are super easy to follow and are very detailed. One of my favorites is the one he made for the Aperture Card!

http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/tag/inkscape/  Kay has created files and fonts that are amazing and shows step-by-step how she did it!

http://susanbluerobot.blogspot.com/  Down the right side, Susan has a virtual LIBRARY of tutorials available. I think I've learned more from her than many of the others!

http://inkscapetutorials.wordpress.com/   This is an Inkscape Tutorial blog that seems to gather the "best of the best" from around the web! They post all kinds of links to tutorials... I LOVED the "Spiro Swirls" one! Really well done!

http://papasuecreative.blogspot.com/ Her tagline says it all! "I want to Teach you how to fish, not give you fish! I do share files I've made while learning to fish and I hope that you will take advantage of the How To's and Tutorials and learn to fish on your own."

Pretty comprehensive list, I think!

I've done my research because I LOVE to learn and push myself to create things!

One of my favorite expressions is: "I wonder if I can..." which is always followed by some sort of project! Whenever hubby hears me say "I wonder if we can..." he starts running!

Thanks Stacie for listing my Blog Tutorials amongst this most prestigious list of creative people.  I've used all of these as I was learning how to fish.  I'd say I learned most later stuff from Carolyn's (cuttingtime.com) tutorials for sure as she stretched my imagination and explored features I didn't even know existed.

I'm off to check out the one I don't know about:  the Inkscape Tutorial Blog.

PapaSue: I just watched your Bending Video on YouTube! WOW!! That's good stuff!  :D

I found another site that has great tutorials:

http://verysimpledesigns.com/vectors/

This is actually the site where the spiral swirls is located. I was browsing this evening and found the most amazing tips!
Great borders (patterns along path) and Paisley (using path effects)...  :D Along with many others ...

Stacie has already listed some great sites, so I am just adding the ones from my favourite's folder.

This list of links are tutorials written by graphic designers who use Inkscape. Just remember if you follow these tutorials you may need to add a few steps to make the file suitable for cutting.

The only site I am going to duplicate here is the one on spiro swirls by Very Simple Designs as it is very easy to follow. Remember after creating your spiro design to apply object to path, so the design will cut out. http://www.verysimpledesigns.com/vectors/inkscape-tutorial-spiro-swirls.html

http://screencasters.heathenx.org/ Very easy to follow and understand video tutorials.

Learn Digital Design http://www.learndigitaldesign.com/school.php?title=1  Another site with easy to follow video tutorials.

You Tube - this link will take you to over 60 video tutorials. Some are from people who are graphic designer and other tutorials are from people who own cutters. http://www.youtube.com/results?search=r ... YVw&page=2

Graphic Tip another site with video tutorials from both graphic designers and owners of cutters. http://www.graphictip.com/category/2d-graphic/inkscape/

Nicu's How-to Inkscape, Gimp and Open Office tutorials. The post on postage stamps is great as it shows three different ways to achieve to look. http://howto.nicubunu.ro/

The order of the stick avatar with Inkscape. You can learn a lot about Inkscape by reading this tutorial as it explains all the steps involved with screenshots. http://www.trazoi.net/tutorials/inkscap ... index.html

Inkscape Tutorials  A different way to trace an image using live path effects and butterfly technique showing how to create mirror image designs. http://inkscapetutorials.blogspot.com/2 ... nique.html

Chris Design Blog  graphic design site, great if using Inkscape for digital stamps or digital scrapbooking. http://chrisdesign.wordpress.com/catego ... s-english/

Raikar Designs easy to follow tutorials. http://art.vinayraikar.com/search/label/inkscape

Inkscape Tutorials  Tutorials showing how to  draw cartoon animals. Very easy to follow instructions. http://inkscapefans.blogspot.com/
