Title: Create a Motif (medallion) from a Shape
Post by: PapaSue on January 26, 2013, 10:34:23 AM
Hi, the ladies from the UK "Useful Graphic Design Tutorials" have done a tutorial on creating a motif from a shape.  It has some very helpful keyboard shortcuts in it as well as yet another way to "rotate" a shape into a motif.

I used a heart as the shape for this.  BEWARE this takes a lot of power for Inkscape so keep your original image small or you will bring Inkscape down to a crawl

Here is a link to the video tutorial

I tried this, and it is quick and easy.
I think I'll stick with slower methods though because it does create a lot of nodes.
