There are so many things that are possible to draw and do in inkscape but sometimes I would like to save as a jpeg. Is this possible? Please tell me how if it is. Thanks for all the help. Every one here is so helpful and much appreciated for all of us newbees.

You can export PNG files, which are a standard image files.  They are great for digi stamps since the backgrounds are transparent.  If you don't want a transparent background just put a white shape behind the image.

Select what you want to export, then use File/Export bitmap.  Choose a location if you want it different from where the svg is saved, and a file name.   You can also set the dpi or the pixel width.  HTH
