The Future of this Forum:

The Inkscape Project will open its first official forum, on the Inkscape website, this August (2019). (Address/link will be provided at that time.) When that happens, new registrations will no longer be allowed in this forum and Inkscape support will be provided in the new forum. This forum will still be open for a while, so that existing topics can be finished, and existing users can have access to their contents. But all potential new members should register on the Inkscape website, and post their questions in the new forum, starting in August. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them here.

Since there haven't been any new messages for so long, and no one has ever replied to this message of mine I'm considering closing this forum entirely, in approx 6 months. If anyone has any comments about that, please feel free to post them.

SVG from Inkscape into PNG for Studio software
« on: November 27, 2011, 11:04:50 AM »
I know there has been talk of purchasing the Designer version of the Studio software for the Cameo, so that you can open SVG files but from what I understand when the files are opened in the Designer software the files are a little bigger then the original SVG file format.

I did this pictorial in March 2011, and only realised a few days ago that the SVG file, was the same size after doing the trace from the PNG file that was opened in the Normal Studio Software.......Hope this makes sense......If you need additional help just HOLLER.......The downloadable file comes in 2 parts, the 1st part for the Inkscape info and the 2nd part for the Silhouette Studio software.....

Here is the file used in the Example........
Deco Style Frame.zip

Here are the Downloadable Pictorials as shown below.........
SVG 2 GSD7.zip
SVG 2 GSD20_2.zip

Hi Mary,
ECAL can import svg files directly and the files will import at the correct size if your preferences are set to Inkscape (or Illustrator if that was used to create the file).  Even better, eCAL now imports embedded images too so Print and Cut is easy.  :-)  I need to take a pic (and post it) of the card that my 8yo son and I made using Print2Cut and alcohol markers, my MIL was so impressed.  :D
