The Future of this Forum:

The Inkscape Project will open its first official forum, on the Inkscape website, this August (2019). (Address/link will be provided at that time.) When that happens, new registrations will no longer be allowed in this forum and Inkscape support will be provided in the new forum. This forum will still be open for a while, so that existing topics can be finished, and existing users can have access to their contents. But all potential new members should register on the Inkscape website, and post their questions in the new forum, starting in August. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them here.

Since there haven't been any new messages for so long, and no one has ever replied to this message of mine I'm considering closing this forum entirely, in approx 6 months. If anyone has any comments about that, please feel free to post them.

Log Dollhouse
« on: January 12, 2012, 08:45:06 PM »
My husband made a dollhouse for our granddaughters for Christmas. I thought you might be interested in how I created the shingles and fireplace for it. The shingles were not actually drawn in Inkscape but the fireplace was.

Both were cut using my Silhouette Cameo. If you are interested in seeing more about it you can visit my blog http://wp.me/s1UrAj-1016 or my hubby's http://lumberjocks.com/projects/59404

Wow Laurianne, that's incredible! What a totally awesome gift! I've just popped over to your blog and left some blog love there.

I can't get over how realistic that fireplace is. And the shingles are great! When we were in Romania we watched them making wooden shingles by hand and putting them on the roof of the building - so pretty.

Has anybody got any shrinking powder they could give me, so I could move into that gorgeous house?!!!

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. The dollhouse won 2nd place in Lumberjocks" winter contest! http://lumberjocks.com/awards/winter_2012/results/16 Now my hubby can put the winnings toward a dust collector so my house won't get so dusty when he works on his projects in the garage. :)
