Hello!
« on: January 10, 2013, 12:48:39 PM »
Good evening...first thank you for allowing me to join.
Ok so I purchased the Sizzix Eclipsa while back and have only just now begun to try and use it.
Its a wonderful machine! But there are not many cartridges for it and the ones there are can be expensive...
So I thought I would have a go at making my own files   :?  not so easy lol
I read all the HELP files in the program...ugh! It told me programs I could use to create SVG files...so I downloaded Inkscape
Ive been using Paint Shop Pro for years and Inkscape looks very similar to it but its trying to work out what all the tools do lol
Then I came across a link to this forum and here I am!
I really would like to learn how to use Inkscape....so here I am.

A little about me...
My name is Mary and I live in Lincolnshire in the UK (in case there are many overseas members lol)
I am 60 years old  :? and I spend my time making cards, stationery etc.
My children are all grown up..I have 1 son at home still, hes 22.
I live with my son and my little dog Mollie :) she is 8 months old and very spoilt lol

So thats me!
Im willing to learn so am going to go have a look around and se ewhat I can learn myself using the tutorials I spotted.
Again thank you for having me and I look forward to getting to know some of you

Mary

Welcome Mary!  You are going to love your eClips.  Inkscape is really pretty easy once you learn its quirks.  There are at least two of us here with eClips, so if you have any questions, just let us know.  :D

BTW:  I've never taken my controller out of the box, I've only ever cut using eCAL.   ;)

Welcome Mary,

It looks like the forum ate my response   . I must have posted at the same time as Heather.

Did you also join the Sure Cuts a Lot forum http://forum.surecutsalot.com/ ? You will find the software has many built-in features specific to your cutter and you won't have to use Inkscape for all of your design work. Unless of course you come to love the Inkscape as much as some of us do.

If you need help at any stage give a big HOLLER.
