Logo for this Forum
« on: August 09, 2010, 09:52:22 AM »
I'd really like to have a Logo for this forum to post on my Blog to encourage more Inkscape users to join with us.

I propose a challenge to all the creative designers here to design a Logo (and maybe the code to use as a link) so that those of us with Blogs can "advertise".

Inkscape Cutting Design

How about it?

Not unique or special and I am no graphic designer but I thought I would start the ball rolling.  Let's be having you ladies and gents and get us something special.  DOH!  Flowers might be bit too sissy for the fellow/s on the forum.

Perhaps I should have called myself theflowergirl and not technomum as I seem to have a floral bias!

Flower bias is good. I love the blade for the letter I, very ingenious.
I can see myself putting this one on a shirt and wearing it to craft shows as well.
Thank you for starting the competition.

I searched for how to make a button for your blog and found this tutorial.  It is for Adobe Photoshop but easily translatable to Inkscape since it is mostly design, size and the code.

http://www.musingsofahousewife.com/2009 ... utton.html

I created this just play around.  I'm positive that I'm not a graphic designer but I thought this might help get us one step further along.

Love technomum's hibiscus too.

Nice one, Susan.  I do hope we get some more entries.  I am sure we have many members with great ideas that just need a little push to get them started.  It would be lovely to see a great collection.

Thanks Butterfly I had fun.  Since I didn't have to worry about cutting anything I was free to play with the Extensions and Filters.  You can do this for HOURS   The one I used is neon glow.  I see T-shirts in our future.

I just watched Carolyn's video on Halo Inset/Outset and could spend my day doing buttons playing with the effects.

I sure hope others post designs for the Forum Logo so I can learn even more.

I've been playing around with the logo idea but am having trouble figuring out how to load the image.

I think I've figured it out, so here goes.  Please let me know if I did something wrong.....

Blogging is easy compared to the talent you have and the willingness to share.  Try it, but remember that you have to "feed" the blog fairly regularly and for me that's a challenge.  Sometimes I just don't feel creative.

I learn each day by frequenting this blog and the others I'm affiliated with.  Learning is lifetime endeavor and keeps us alive and on our toes.

Be happy and follow your heart.

I love all the entries so far and can see we have some very talented members.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to help design a logo.
I can see it is going to be very hard to choose one and I am pleased it will not be my decision. We will put up a poll for all members to vote to decide the winner.
