Installing vinyl cutter on ubuntu system

I am trying to find information on installing a vinyl cutter onto an ubuntu system and getting it set up to cut from inkscape.  It is a GCC Puma III

I haven't tried this, but am aware of it.  The developer release of Inkscape has an Export-Plot extension that is supposed to be able to send directly to a hpgl, (also dmpl and knk,) compatible cutter.

Here is a screenshot of it's settings.  I am on Windows, but the developer release for Linux should still have the option.

I am using Inkscape 0.48+devel_64bit r13443.

There is also InkCut, but I have no experience with it.
