The Future of this Forum:

The Inkscape Project will open its first official forum, on the Inkscape website, this August (2019). (Address/link will be provided at that time.) When that happens, new registrations will no longer be allowed in this forum and Inkscape support will be provided in the new forum. This forum will still be open for a while, so that existing topics can be finished, and existing users can have access to their contents. But all potential new members should register on the Inkscape website, and post their questions in the new forum, starting in August. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them here.

Since there haven't been any new messages for so long, and no one has ever replied to this message of mine I'm considering closing this forum entirely, in approx 6 months. If anyone has any comments about that, please feel free to post them.

Hi Angela, I love your spooky tree and spider web. I think they would look good on scrapbooking pages as well.
I can see my daughter with her love of spiders and reptiles pinching any of my cutouts for her own use.

Ok Here is my little creation
As we are entering spring in Australia and our wildflower season is about to explode into colour I thought I would go with a native flowering gum :D

Cheers

Ok Folks

Sometimes my Mojo goes on holiday and I can't get anything to work for me, but this is what I came up with for now; I think the file is more suited as a topper tried to cut from card and it just wasn't working for me. So I used a stiff paper for the 1st example and Adhesive velvet for the 2nd example, and I just liked the idea of layering it on a holographic background card; you could call it weird!!!

Click on image for a closer look, and yes my scanner glass needed some dusting........  :)  ;)  :)

Angela, mojo or not these are beautiful, hope to see the file one day to figure out what you did and how you did it

I love them both,  Never knew what a gum flower looked like.  Very pretty.  And Angela I love the idea of holographic paper behind your design.

Hi Susan, As you entered the swap you will get Angela's file.

Angela, it is funny that you used holographic paper as I was creating some designs yesterday with the aim of using patterned paper behind the shape. So far I have done a sea turtle and a seahorse and holographic paper would be ideal. Now to find where I can buy some.

Hi Carolyn

I thought I would do an example of your Sealife file for you, and I also have an Owl Topper file that I put together as well.

Okay, I must find some holographic papers. Do you get them from craft shops? Funny you embossed the turtle as i was thinking of doing the same thing to give them the leathery look.

Hi Carolyn

Quite a few of my holographic paper has come from crafts shop, but the bulk of it has come from Create & Craft which is a UK based TV Craft channel; and trust me when I had my full time job I had a parcel delivery every other day!!!
Now with my New recent Part Time job its a case of considered purchases.

I know it may seem strange for a season but in Australia it is spring and it is whale watching season.

Last week my daughter and I visited Reef HQ in Townsville. It is the largest aquarium with living coral and they have a section for rescued sea turtles. The whales and turtles influenced me to create a set of charms.

If anyone wonders how I got the images to look like they do. I used a black colour fill then the filter - 3d mother of pearl.
