The Future of this Forum:

The Inkscape Project will open its first official forum, on the Inkscape website, this August (2019). (Address/link will be provided at that time.) When that happens, new registrations will no longer be allowed in this forum and Inkscape support will be provided in the new forum. This forum will still be open for a while, so that existing topics can be finished, and existing users can have access to their contents. But all potential new members should register on the Inkscape website, and post their questions in the new forum, starting in August. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them here.

Although I've been planning to put this forum in read-only mode, at the time of this transition, unfortunately, my personal circumstances have changed, and I won't be able to host this forum much longer. If anyone is interested in taking it over, please contact me.

"I Love Autumn"

Here is some text I made for a Fall spread.  I included the background mat but ended up liking it without it for my page. I used for Robo Master software for the print and cut.

Thank you, Angel and Suzan.  I can't remember which font I started with... it may have been a Linux font.  It really doesn't matter.  Whatever it is, I started by simplifying it.  I then duplicated the font and changed that one to white.  Next, I inset it a bit, blurred it, and played with the opacity until I got the look I wanted.  For the highlights, I started with white eclipses which I turned to paths.  I played with them to make different shapes for where I wanted to make it look like the light is reflecting.  The last thing I did was make another duplicate of the background and outset it just a little bit.  I used that to clip the entire set so that the edges are cleaned up a bit.

It is kind of a lot of work for a font.... but I wanted it to look like it was paint or gel.... or something like that.  I've made several in different colors (and different text) now for other pages and they really turned out pretty cool.
