Hi, I was just wondering if you can import PDF files into SCAL and does it work well?

You can use vector PDF files with SCAL2, but they need to be cutter ready.  Also, last time I checked it would only import the first page of mulit-paged pdf files.  A lot of the PDF files online have line segments rather than shapes.  While SCAL can cut lines now, it's better to have closed shapes for a cleaner and faster cut.

Thanks Heather. I have just been playing with another program and saving files in PDF.

If you import a vector pdf file with only stroke lines is it possible to thicken them to make wider cutting lines? If you can I have found a way to create lattice designs very easily. It will also add internal lines in a shape to create engraving or pen lines.

I have tested this out with Inkscape and MTC but cannot test it with SCAL.

SCAL doesn't have stroke to path capabilities at this time.  You would need to open the PDF in Inkscape to do that.

Okay, thanks for the information. It will make it easier when I do find time to write up the information.
