Shapes with spirals
« on: July 28, 2011, 05:48:18 AM »
Another project if anyone is interested. I show the way I create shapes with a spiral pattern. The same method can be used for more than just spirals and is worth experimenting with. As usual this won't be the only way these type of designs can be created, so experiment and find the method that suits your style the best.
Video and written instructions below.

Another project with spirals, this time the shape is cut out of the spirals to create a frame.

Great to hear this is useful information. So strange as I nearly didn't post this tutorial. I didn't think anyone would find it useful and changed my mind incase new Inkscape users were interested. I look forward to seeing how everyone interprets and uses the basic information.

Ah! I wish the mojo would work on me. I make videos and start experimenting with something new. I have not cut anything for ages.

Maybe things will change on Monday. Just don't look up or you will see pink things with wings, lol.

Too late I already saw them, and there were a few extras for the tasks I haven't completed as well.......

But I just had to try the tuts, and nothing works for me until I cut it and then I learn what improvements are needed; so here you go and the hardest part of this tuts was trying to group the spirals and not have parts of spirals not connected to others....Hope I'm making sense.....

Very pretty. I never thought of overlapping the spirals and it looks great. I guess I know what I am doing for the rest of the night now. I think your overlapping spirals would look wonderful on Christmas cards. Okay, off to play.

Hello.

I'm rather new to Inkscape and I think your Youtube tutorials are great. I still have to learn a lot and you have great ideas how to learn something new. I'll check older tutorials too. Thank you.

Whoo is still making owls?!

I'm not sure what it is about owls. Perhaps you don't give a hoot...I don't collect them but they are fun to make!
