The Future of this Forum:

The Inkscape Project will open its first official forum, on the Inkscape website, this August (2019). (Address/link will be provided at that time.) When that happens, new registrations will no longer be allowed in this forum and Inkscape support will be provided in the new forum. This forum will still be open for a while, so that existing topics can be finished, and existing users can have access to their contents. But all potential new members should register on the Inkscape website, and post their questions in the new forum, starting in August. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them here.

Since there haven't been any new messages for so long, and no one has ever replied to this message of mine I'm considering closing this forum entirely, in approx 6 months. If anyone has any comments about that, please feel free to post them.

Geisha needs a DUDE
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:47:45 AM »
Are we still playing with the dancers?

I thought that some of the geishas needed a companion.  So the challenge is to dress up this dude to go with. Pick your favorite geisha from all the beautiful ones Laura and Angela did and "marry" her to this guy, after you dress him up a bit of course.  See this post if you were busy yesterday whilst we played.

Think filters, extensions, blurs, opacity and then there are patterns. Clip, mask etc.  See the tutorial section to see "how to", there are a bunch that will guide you.

Whose in?

Oooh nice! I got sidetracked with the filters chart last night and I'm slammed in the office today...but I will be doing one of these, too!

Here is my attempt.

It will be a one off as my computer does not like playing with filters. It was so bad it would have been more fun watching paint dry

If I plan to use filters more often I think I will have to work in layers so I can hide layers and hopefully prevent the computer slowing down too much.

But does that work Carolyn, I can't believe there is not a better way of applying filters without the computer slowing down to a snails pace.......

Terriffic!  I knew you could do it.  Lovely.  you are still using .47 aren't you? I find filters slow down and get huge and unwieldy. that's why I used patterns and clip set.

So happy you joined us, you are a great team member.
